This piece was exhibited at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum through Salon Blanc in 2016. The subject of the painting is Maliwe, one of the children Chris taught at an orphanage in southern Zambia. The cane held by Maliwe is actually Chris’s, frequently borrowed by the orphanage children.
