BACKSTORY:

Lisa’s Bliss at the Shore is actually a sad story about happy times. Lisa was a very dear friend, the wife of another dear friend and coworker. We spent many afternoons at beaches and shorelines with our kids, our last being the coast of Rhode Island. This is a compilation of lake shores, and ocean shores. When she died suddenly, I recalled how happy she was just being near the water. This is one of my favorite pieces, and I have reproduced it as giclees several times – always larger than this original, which I feel is too small relative to my feelings for her.
