BACKSTORY:

I created this image as a nod to the quiet courage of beginning again. Watching surfers during my daughter’s recouperation in Santa Cruz, I saw strength both in her and in the others’ gentle rhythms. This painting honors that -part strategy, part surrender- as both metaphor and memory of healing, motion, and grace in the face of uncertainty.
