BACKSTORY:

We can’t tell if the donkey will or won’t cross the road, but we see it pause, considering its options. For a few years, I studied Stoicism, hoping to refine my thinking and response to the world. What I found was a deeper acceptance of my own humanity; messy, emotional, resilient. The donkey became a stand-in for that realization – steady, reflective, unapologetically itself. So, it is a nod to the wisdom of the pause and embracing one’s true nature without rush or judgment.
