New Art Exhibit Opened on June 1 at Artisans on the Square in Greenville GA

Robin Robinson of Peachtree City is the featured artist in a solo exhibit opening
Saturday, June 1 at Artisans on the Square in Greenville. The opening reception was June 1 from
2-5 pm and the art will be on display until July 13.

Robin calls her show “7000 Miles Behind Me” because it “represents impressions, experiences and a personal chronical of my life. I hope the viewers will see pieces of themselves and aspects of their own personal journeys.” Robin’s 7000 miles include being born in Kentucky, the 8 th of 9 children, moving to “the smallest town you can imagine” in Iowa at the
age of 9, then leaving home at the age of 18 to move to Cincinnati, then Wilmington, Ohio, where she married and had two children. She and her family then moved across the country to San Jose, California, then back to Columbus, Ohio, and in 2011 settled in Peachtree City. Robin’s collection of work includes multiple artistic techniques and media that chronical her journey of self discovery, including struggles with mental illness, discovering multiple ways to a spiritual path, parenting special needs children and discovering art as a catalyst to “becoming the woman I didn’t know I could be.” In her abstract botanical collection “Faded Beauty” she “wanted to capture the beauty and imperfection of each flower as symbolic of the wear of life, that beauty isn’t pristine and capturing something less than perfect can be beautiful, the story of the human condition in the form of a flower.
