Robin Old was an honored pilot, flying aircrafts in the World War II and an F-4 Phantom in the Vietnam War. Throughout these missions, he downed at least sixteen enemy planes. By friends, family and historians, Olds is regarded as the best wing commander of the Vietnam War. He retired at approximately age fifty-two as a brigadier general. In this painting, Olds is squatting on the wing of his P-51, named Scat VI, in the World War II era.
